What is CRT TV tuner?

The #tuner in a CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) TV is responsible for receiving television signals from the antenna and converting them into images and sound that can be displayed on the screen. Here’s how a CRT TV tuner works:

  1. Signal Reception: The tuner receives signals from the antenna, which can be either analog or digital, depending on the type of TV and the country where the TV is used. These signals can come from terrestrial (over-the-air), cable, or satellite sources.
  2. Channel Selection: When you select a channel, the tuner filters and tunes to the frequency corresponding to the chosen channel. The tuner works by selecting the correct frequency for the TV channel you want to watch.
  3. Modulation: After selecting the correct frequency, the received signal is typically modulated in either AM (Amplitude Modulation) or FM (Frequency Modulation). The tuner demodulates the signal to extract the image and sound information.
  4. Signal Processing: The separated video and audio signals are then sent to other parts of the TV, where the video signal is processed and displayed on the CRT screen, and the audio signal is sent to the speakers to produce sound.
  5. Signal Amplification: The tuner also amplifies weak signals so that they can be processed clearly by the rest of the TV components.

In short, the CRT TV tuner is responsible for receiving and selecting the TV channel you want to watch, processing the signal, and converting it into images and sound that appear on the screen and speakers.
